Around 20,000 mourners have gathered at the Staples Center in Los Angeles to remember Nipsey, real name Ermias Asghedom, who died on 31 March after being shot and killed outside his clothing store.
His girlfriend, Lauren London, brought his children on-stage to deliver an emotional speech. The actress’ eldest child, son Cameron Carter whom she shares with ex Lil Wayne, recalled a haunting dream he had about Nipsey just two days after he died.
Speaking clearly and with confidence, the nine-year-old said: ‘On the night of April 2nd, I had a dream.

‘I was in paradise and I was playing in the ocean water when Ermias popped up right behind me. He said, “What up Killa?” cause that’s my nickname to him.
‘I turned around, yelled his name and gave him a hug. Shortly after he was gone but it was still cool I guess.’
Kameron continued: ‘I told my mum about the dream and after I told her I was thinking about. ‘Ermias told me what heaven was like, he told me it was paradise.
‘In the morning, Ermias would say respect at the window so at the count of three, I want everyone to yell “respect”.’
However, Nipsey’s daughter Emani was too overwhelmed to speak to the large auditorium and turned her back away from the audience.
Lauren, 34, tried to gently encourage her step-daughter, saying: ‘She doesn’t want to. Just say thank you. You don’t have to look at them, look at us,’ but Emani replied: ‘I’m scared.’
